Hell Gate is a subscriber-funded, worker-owned news outlet in New York City. After our collaboration on the Eric Adams Table of Success, they approached us to deliver a refreshed identity and new website. We updated and expanded their existing visual system, including a redrawn logo, updated colors, and new typography. The new site, built on Ghost with fellow co-op Outpost, facilitates the surfacing of older content, encouraging readers to explore beyond the most recent story, while integrating visual easter eggs to mirror Hell Gate's unique editorial voice. In the first five weeks after launch, monthly recurring revenue had increased by 21%.
